Good people are like lighted candles

Good people are like lighted candles. The darker the night, the brighter they become. They don't make noise about their brightness and don't lose their brightness by sharing it with others. Let nothing overwhelm your light. Keep it on burning and inspiring others.

People remember you for being nice

An ill child was brought to a hospital. After treatment, the mother showed the Doctor a handmade wallet and said, "There are things we can't pay, I hope you take this wallet I made for you." The Doctor said, "I don't practice for sentimental reasons. Pay me ten thousand." The mother opened the wallet, toke out 25 thousand and gave the doctor 10 thousand. Then she replied, "you're a very good doctor, but I wish you were a better man."

Lesson from the story:
It is nice to be important, but it is even more important to be nice. People remember you for being nice and not for being important.

Church Behavior and Mentality

We are all belong to a church, maybe some of us are daily church goers, others are occasional, and the rest do not go. Churches are built for a purpose, we keep different rest day and principles, then follow what we believed is God’s command.
Some of us have castle mentality for being member of church, castle mentality in sense that they strictly follow the things that they believed are the basis and principle to follow in order to be saved, criticize and penalized members who can’t follow the guidelines, church was built beautifully inside a secured and walled area or ground.

A soft answer turns away wrath.

Communication is very much essential in maintaining a harmonious relation, it cultivates a lasting bond that binds. But often the situation change and differ, that we can't control ourselves in uttering harsh words to our fellow in a conversation, if we want to identify and insist we use high pitch of voice to command and force them to follow. Then the nice relation would be affected, and will be failing to continue.

The books of Proverbs has something to say about words and answering to our fellow, which will be effective if we consider and do it nicely, it took some effort for one to be intelligent enough to handle his own words and temper in a conversation, it says in Proverbs 15:1, that, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh words stirs up anger."
Our words are the outlet of human emotions, but let us be careful in bringing out our words especially if we feel something against the person whom we're talking. God is always good to us, He shows means for us to be in proper way in not proper situation.

Phlegmatic: Temperament and Personality

Flip Phlegmatic gets his name from what Hippocrates thought was the body fluid that produced a calm, cool, slow, easygoing, well-balanced temperament. Life for Flip is a happy, unexcited, pleasant experience in which he avoids as much involvement as possible.
Calm easygoing Flip Phlegmatic never seems to get ruffled, no matter what the circumstances. He has a very high boiling point and seldom explodes in anger or laughter but keeps his emotion under control. This is the one temperament type that is consistent every time you see this person. You see, Flip Phlegmatic is usually kindhearted and sympathetic but seldom conveys his true feelings. He feels much more emotion than appears on the surface and has a good capacity to appreciate the fine arts and the "finer things" of life.

Possessions..

Sometimes we think possessions are essential. Big homes, lots of money. Other people, Goals, big important goals are essential. We spend our lives insuring ourselves against impending doom, where is sure is just outside the door. And by doing all of this, we cease to live in the moment. If there is something a lover is, it's a person who realizes that the only reality is the "now." Yesterday is gone, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's good, because it brought you to where you are right now. And in spite of what people have told you, this is a good place to be! But there's nothing you can do about yesterday, it isn't real anymore. And tomorrow? Tomorrow is a wonderful thing to dream about. It's marvelous to dream about tomorrow, but it isn't real. And if you spend your time dreaming about yesterday and tomorrow, you've got to miss what's happening to you and the right now. And that's the real reality, to be in touch.

The Melancholic Temperament and Personality

Melancholy is often referred to as the “black” or “dark” temperament. Actually he is the richest of all the temperament, for he is an analytical, self-sacrificing, gifted, perfectionist type, with a very sensitive emotional nature. No one gets more enjoyment from the fine arts than the Melancholy.

Asking for Forgiveness..

Satan was complaining to the Lord, “You’re unfair, So many sinners do wrong and you take them back. In fact, some come back half a dozen times and you always welcome them. I make one big mistake and you condemn me forever; it is not fair.”

Said the Lord, “Did you ever ask for forgiveness or repent?”

Introducing Choleric Temperament and Personality

Choleric is the hot, quick, active, practical, and strong-willed temperament. He is often self-sufficient and very independent. He tends to be decisive and opinionated, finding it easy to make decisions for himself as well as for others.

Choleric thrives on activity. In fact to him, “life is activity.” He does not need to be stimulated by his environment. No, he stimulates the environment with his endless ideas, plans, and ambitions. His is not an aimless activity, for he has a practical, keen mind, capable of making sound, instant decisions or planning worthwhile, long-range projects. He does not vacillate under pressure of what others think. He takes a definite stand on issues and can often be found crusading against social injustice or unhealthy situations.

Attributes of Person: Character, Personality, and Temperament

“Why is it that I can’t control myself? I know what’s right and wrong. I just don’t seem to be able to do what’s right!” This frustrated plea came from a fine businessman who had come for counselling. It wasn’t the first time I had heard that plaint in one form or another; in fact, it is a very common experience.
At the moment of conception we all inherited a basic genetic temperament that contains both our strength and weaknesses. This temperament is called several things in the Bible: “Natural man,” “the flesh,” “the old man,” and “corruptible flesh,” to name a few. It is the basic impulse of our being that seek to satisfy our wants. To properly understand the temperament’s control of our actions and reactions, we should define three terms and carefully distinguish them: temperament, character, and personality.
Temperament
Temperament is the combination of inborn traits that subconsciously affects all our behaviour. These traits, which are passed on by our genes, are based on hereditary factors and arranged at the time of conception. Six people contribute through the gene pool to makeup of every baby: two parents and four grandparents. Some authorities suggest that we get more genes from our grandparents than our parents. The alignment of temperament traits, though unseen, is just as predictable as the color of eyes, hair, or size of body.
It is a person’s temperament that makes that person outgoing and extrovertish or shy and introvertish. Doubtless you know kinds of people who are siblings-born to the same parents. Similarly, it is temperament that make some people art or music enthusiast, while others are sports or industry minded.
Character
Character is the real you. The Bible refers to it as “the hidden person of the heart” (I Peter 3:4). It is the result of your natural temperament modified by childhood training, education, and basic attitudes, beliefs, principles, and motivations. It sometimes referred to as “the soul” of a person, which is made up of the mind, emotions, and will.
Character combines your temperament, training, moral values, beliefs, and habit patterns. It is the net result of all the influences and religious commitment on your life.
Personality
Personality is the outward expression of oneself, which may or may not be the same as a person’s character, depending on how genuine that person is.
Often personality is a pleasing façade for an unpleasant or weak character. Many are acting a part today on the basis of what they think they should be as a person, rather what they really are. This is a formula for mental and spiritual chaos. It is caused by following the human formula for acceptable conduct. The Bible tells us, “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart”(1 Sam. 16:7)
